This morning you will travel 65 miles into Denali National Park to the Eielson Visitor Center (group activity). By riding the shuttle bus system, visitors can enjoy viewing the park without worrying about maneuvering a vehicle, and riding in a bus enhances the chances of spotting wildlife. On a clear day, this 8-hour shuttle bus trip into the park affords outstanding views of Mt. McKinley and the Alaska Range when visible, and excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Opened in June 2008 the completely reconstructed Eielson Visitor Center was 3 years in the making. The new sustainably constructed building and all new interpretive exhibits are well worth the visit. Take a hike on your own on the trails around the visitor center, or join National Park Service Rangers for daily guided walks.
This afternoon there is time for optional tours such as flight seeing, river rafting, hiking or jet boat tours. Your guide will help arrange any optional tours you would like to take.
